This is a story about a little bird, born in a duck´s nest but hatched from a swan´s egg. The story tells us that even though you feel different, maybe even picked upon, you can find your way in life and grow to be a ‘beautiful swan’. This is also thought to be the story about Andersen’s own life, a fairy tale he wrote quite late in his life after gaining success against many odds.
